Teresa Catinella and Mariachiara Conti, two researchers and experts in contemporary history, helped focus on fifteen stories, exemplary or little-known, but all significant, of women who were part of the Resistance to the fascist regime and Nazi occupation. The biographies of the women together with curated sections about their educational dimension, were published by Zikkaron and are also available online.
Furthermore, an easy-to-read and easy-to-set-up exhibition has been produced to bring into schools, libraries, social centres and shopping centres the women stories, and thus reach even the less sensitive citizenry. To request a set-up or information you can contact Monte Sole!

Memory Route educational modules
The Italian stage of the Memory Route explored the history of the Monte Sole Massacre in order to identify critical issues and themes in relation to the general knowledge of the Second World War and its history in the respective countries of origin of the students.
After experiencing the experiential visit to the sites of the 1944 massacres and the educational workshops that can result from them, the stimulus was to learn how to ‘exploit’ the power of places and biographies in an educational way and to attempt to construct some modules (one per country) to propose to the stakeholders.

Workshops for school students.
Several upper secondary school classes took part in the experiential workshops offered as part of the Wire project.
Five of these chose the residential workshops: for two days they were guests of the Peace School and had the opportunity to learn about the history of Monte Sole and to think about the concepts of regime, resistance, violence, non-violence, conflict, reconciliation and human rights.
Two of them, on the other hand, chose to meet Monte Sole at the end of a long path of reflection that started with a workshop conducted by the Monte Sole Peace School directly at school, and continued either with classroom discussions with the teachers of literature or with the selection of books of different kinds, concerning stories of resistance. The latter resulted in the production of a podcast, all constructed, recorded and edited by the students.
